Fees on your night count what you pay and what your buyers pay, at each platform’s published rates excluding VAT, read 2026-10-03. Competitor 1: 4,9% plus its usual R 7,50 booking fee a ticket (R 6,52 without VAT). Competitor 2: its published maximum of 5% plus 2,5% banking, with its R 2,50 minimum counted once an order. EventU: 3% plus card processing at 2,9% + R1 an order.

What does EventU cost?
A flat 3% of every ticket you sell, plus card processing at cost: 2,9% + R1 per order. No setup fee, no monthly fee and no minimum. On a R 150 ticket bought one at a time that comes to 6,6%, and less when people buy a few tickets in one order.
Do my buyers pay a booking fee?
No. Your buyers pay the ticket price you set and nothing is added at checkout. Our fee comes out of each sale, so if you want it covered, build it into your ticket price.
When do I get paid?
2 working days after each sale, straight into your own bank account. A ticket sold on Monday is in your account on Wednesday, so the money is there while you are still selling. EventU never holds it.
What if I need to refund a ticket?
Refunds follow the refund policy you set on your event, and buyers see it before they pay. If an event is cancelled, everyone who bought a ticket gets their money back.
Do my buyers need an account?
No. Buyers can check out as a guest with their name and email address, and their tickets arrive by email.
Can I sell tickets on my own website too?
Yes. If you have a developer, they can connect your website to EventU so tickets sell there as well. Our developer docs have everything they need.
Can buyers resell a ticket they can't use?
Not right now. Ticket resale is switched off, so a ticket cannot be listed or bought on EventU at the moment. Your ticket is still yours to use.
