What You Buy and From Whom

EventU sells tickets for events that independent organisers create and run. When you buy a ticket you buy it from the organiser, and we sell it on the organiser’s behalf. The organiser’s name, the event’s date, venue and details, and the price of each ticket type are on the event page. The full agreement is in our Terms of Service.

Price, Payment and Delivery

  • Prices are in South African rand. The total at checkout is the full price you pay: there is no booking fee and no delivery cost.
  • Payments are processed by Paystack. Your full card number goes only to Paystack and never reaches EventU’s systems.
  • Your tickets are held for 30 minutes while you pay. Once Paystack confirms the payment, your tickets are emailed to you, and they also appear in your account if you bought while signed in.
  • Keep the confirmation email: it is your record of the transaction.

Refunds and Cancelling

  • Each organiser sets its own refund policy, which is shown at checkout before you pay. See Refunds and Cancellations in our Terms of Service.
  • The seven-day cooling-off period in section 44 of the Act does not apply to event tickets, because a ticket is for a leisure service on a specific date (section 42(2)(j)). Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 still apply.

Privacy and Security

How we collect, use, protect and share personal information, including payment information, is set out in our Privacy Policy and our PAIA Manual.

Complaints

If something goes wrong, contact us first using the details above and we will try to put it right. How disputes are settled is set out in Disputes and Governing Law in our Terms of Service.
